The Life Map is a methodology to identify strengths and challenges in a young person’s life. The process looks over four to five key areas within their life, from friends, family, school/work, and ‘other’ — internal experiences not necessarily related to the other parts of their lives. It's an excellent conversation starter that helps identify which types of areas might be worked on during the therapeutic relationship.
One 50 minutes session containing a core activity. Client outcomes include:
- Map out the key areas of the client’s life, identifying what works well(strengths) and what is proving difficult (challenges).
- Engage the client in identifying potential collaborative work to addresstheir challenges.
- Explain how we use their strengths to stay motivated, energised andgrounded while tackling challenges during personal growth.
