Rejection Sensitivity and its more severe experience, Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria (RSD), occurs when individuals have a severe and overwhelming emotional response to criticism or rejection. This may be either actual or perceived.
It is not currently recognised within the DSM–V as a diagnosable condition, but it is well understood within counselling/psychology fields as experiencing a combination of:
•Low self-esteem
•Perfectionism and fear of failure
•Feelings of anxiety and hopelessness
•Possible anger and aggression under challenging circumstances
•Avoidance of social settings or approval-seeking behaviours
•Extreme emotional outbursts after feeling hurt or rejected
It is pervasive in those diagnosed with ADHD, Autism and Interpersonal Trauma, e.g., parent abuse, bullying, etc.

Minimum of two 50 minutes session containing two key activities. Client outcomes include:

- Explain and understand rejection sensitivity

- Reframe the rejection voice to take away its power

- The use of substitution for the rejection voice

- Understanding how their response to the rejection voice can cause rejection or confusion from others
